Philippe Nigro

Philippe Nigro is a French designer born in Nice. He works between France and Italy. He studied Applied Arts and Product Design (LTGC, Antibes – La Martinière, Lyon – Boulle, Paris). Philippe Nigro's work is characterized by the connection between experimental research and a pragmatic analysis of the "savoir-faire" of the clients he collaborates with. Over the years, these experiences, enriched by the combination of Franco-Italian culture and a wide variety of design challenges, have allowed him to move between projects of different typologies and scales, collaborating with companies of varying sizes, prestige and activities, enabling him to address the diverse aspects of design. In 1999, he began working alongside Michele De Lucchi, with whom he participated in numerous projects spanning furniture, accessories, lighting, interiors, events and set design. (Valorizzazione dell'Innovazione nel mobile). Some of his projects have been included in the collections of the Centre Pompidou and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, among them Twin-Chairs, T.U, and Confluence.
His work also extends to exhibition and set design, including the 7th edition of the Triennale Design Museum "Il Design Italiano oltre le Crisi," the installation for Lexus — the Japanese automotive brand — at FuoriSalone 2015, for which he also developed in 2017 the concept for the new stands for the motor shows in which the brand participates worldwide. In 2016 he directed the installation Ultra Lin, Paris – Place des Vosges for the European Confederation of Linen and Hemp, a European programme reprised in 2017 in Milan.
