Some iconic pieces from the collection enrich the atmosphere of the elegant French restaurant.
The new wall coat hanger Waltz coat rack, the sophisticated Bodystuhl chair and the iconic Cirque stool, adorn the interior of the new restaurant, La Forêt Noire, in Chaponost west of Lyon, a project created by the Claude Cartier Décoration studio.
Luxurious, elegant and with an Art Deco flavour, the interior of the restaurant recalls the parlours of Paris in the twenties, playing on the contrast of materials, shapes and colours inspired by an equatorial rainforest.
Brass and green velvet outlines approach the Viennese straw of Nigel Coates’ Bodystuhl chair: the curves of the steam moulded beech wood define the wide seat and ergonomic backrest, characterised by its welcoming shape and embellished with armrests that amplify its sinuous form.
An interpretation of natural colours and lines, is also highlighted by the new GamFratesi Waltz coat rack, made with curved beech wood and inspired by the lightness of the steps of the oldest and most famous ballroom dance, the waltz. This product leaves great freedom of design, with the ability to support multiple modules – each consisting of three curved elements, the first two facing upwards and the third folded down – placing them along the wall on the same axis or flipping them over, thus reproducing the imaginary line drawn from the willowy movement of two dancers turning, turning, turning to the rhythm of the music, drawing characteristic outlines across the floor.
The retro atmosphere and the combination of the different elements is then accentuated by the black and white marble floor, a graphic game also delivered by the curved element of the Martino Gamper Cirque stools that are inserted into such an unexpected base, outlining the profile of the seat with a chain of two or three circles of wood that interconnect the legs along the entire length. An aesthetic virtuosity that integrates seamlessly with the functionality of the seat.
