Gebrüder Thonet Vienna GmbH (“GTV”), historical brand protagonist of the crucial transition from craftsmanship to industry, confirms the synergy with Artissima furnishing the Thonetiana for the third year. The Thonetiana is a “lounge in the lounge”, an exclusive space from the balcony overlooking the fair with an exceptional view where VIP guests can enjoy some relaxation from the frenzy on the pavilion.
The link with Artissima, the only Italian fair dedicated exclusively to contemporary art that attracts an audience of collectors, professionals and art lovers every year, confirms GTV’s vocation for research and design research, a trait d’union between the past and the future. An aptitude for the discovery and enhancement of talents that it shares with Artissima, internationally recognised for its own attention to experimental practices and a springboard for emerging artists and research galleries.
Its presence in the Thonetiana also confirms the strong link with Turin, the city where Gebrüder Thonet Vienna GmbH (GTV) is based today and which has marked its rebirth on the international contemporary design scene. For some years now, through the Wiener GTV Design brand, with its unique manufacturing heritage in the world of furniture it has chosen to renew its partnership with design, together with leading figures on the international scene.
Structured in four distinct areas, three living spaces and a bistro, this year Thonetiana chooses some of the most iconic pieces of the GTV collection, different proposals for aesthetics but united by the ability to reinterpret the historical stylistic features of the brand with a completely contemporary perspective: the collections of upholstered TARGA by GamFratesi and PROMENADE by Philippe Nigro, the lounge chair LOIE by Chiara Andreatti and the two-seater sofa HIDEOUT LOVESEAT by Front.
The lounge is enriched by the ARCH COFFEE TABLE by Front, the WIENER BOX by Cristian Mohaded and the WAGASA floor lamps by Servomuto. The SHERRY bistro table designed by Gebrüder Thonet Vienna GmbH (GTV) in combination with the BREZEL chairs by LucidiPevere.
And then, three new one-off carpets designed by Paola Pastorini and produced by Golran for Gebrüder Thonet Vienna GmbH (GTV).
