Ernst W. Beranek (6 October 1934), an Austrian designer, from 1957 to 1962, studied at the Academy of Applied Arts in Vienna in the architecture class of Oswald Haerdtl and the industrial design class of Franz Hoffmann. In 1963 he started working as a freelance designer in Vienna.
From 1974 to 2008 he and Harry Kubelka managed their company ID POOL Beranek and Kubelka. As well as his work as an industrial design and work education teacher, he was also involved in many research projects for the design of scholastic furnishings, scholarships and assistance for the elderly.
