Red Dot Award for Gebrüder Thonet Vienna
The N.200 lounge chair by Michael Anastassiades wins the Red Dot Best of the Best 2020.
The N.200 lounge chair by Michael Anastassiades wins the Red Dot Best of the Best 2020 in the Home and Seating Furniture category. A highly coveted recognition that is given to a small number of products representing the approximately 50 product categories that the Red Dot Award: Product Design selects every year.
For the 2020 edition, the international jury of 40 members evaluated over 6,500 applications received from 60 countries. International guarantee of excellence, introduced for the first time in 1955, Red Dot is today among the highest and oldest awards in the world of design.
An important recognition that once again rewards GTV’s ability to transform the heritage of the past into the future by combining refined design concepts. Together with Michael Anastassiades‘ signature with N.200, GTV has in fact reinterpreted once again its genetic code and its archetypal design features: bent beech-wood and woven cane. These become the distinguishing features of N.200, where method and form come together to create a timeless chair with a deliberately clean, minimalist elegance.
The Red Dot Best of the Best 2020 enriches the palmarès of Gebrüder Thonet Vienna which includes among other several IF Design Awards conferred in 2020 again to N.200 and to the Rue headboard by GamFratesi, to the Loïe lounge chair by Chiara Andreatti and Chignon by LucidiPevere, respectively in 2019 and 2018, and to the iconic Hideout by Front awarded with the IF Gold Award 2016 together with three special mentions obtained at the German Design Award for the Allegory Desk and the Morris chair by GamFratesi in 2017 and the Single Curve Collection by Nendo in 2016.
