The new Gebrüder Thonet Vienna GmbH (GTV) catalogue is fresh off the presses and presents the latest offers that enhance the collections with new interpretations provided by the fascinating shots by Gionata Xerra , reconfirming its profound vocation to project planning. New fascinating chapters with a contemporary look in the great history of the brand, the first to mark the transition from craftsmanship to industry.
As always they express the latest design languages and are the result of collaborations with the most eye-catching international design talents. Personal reinterpretations of the archetypes of the brand by the different designers involved: a range characterised by contemporary lines and shapes that extend and complete the company’s offer with refined stylistic visions.
This year’s careful research is further enhanced by a collaboration with – among others – Cristina Celestino and Chiara Andreatti, who respectively designed the CARYLLON tables and the LOÏE lounge chair. A story with feminine elegance highlights two distinct design approaches that give life to fascinating reinterpretation to the established manufacturing culture of Gebrüder Thonet Vienna, with the curved wood technique, representative element of the brand, remaining prominent.
Further collaborations involve the Italian-Danish duo, GamFratesi, responsible for the new modular sofa of the iconic TARGA upholstered collection; Philippe Nigro, who designed the new PROMENADE lounge chair; and the Argentinian Cristian Mohaded, once again who designed the new WIENER BOX coffee table collection.
Paolo Galetto was also involved yet again, this time he created a watercolour dedicated to GTV for the cover. Some of the most iconic products of the brand are at the centre of this work of art, an elegant female figure, the perfect expression of the style of the famous Turin artist, far from conceptual reworking, intense in the synthesis of line and colour.
