At the forefront of the scene, there is once again a partnership with Philippe Nigro, who has designed the new BEAULIEU chair in bent beechwood, where the curves, assembled like a construction kit, meet to create the back and armrests, making it possible to obtain two types of seat with just a few changes: a chair and a comfortable armchair. For Philippe Nigro, designing a new chair for Gebrüder Thonet Vienna also involves exploring poetic imagery: one that is attributable to the company’s ability, for almost 150 years, to transcend time periods with incredible nonchalance. In this project, Philippe Nigro draws on the „living lightheartedly“ and sophistication typical of a symbolic place of this period such as Beaulieu, on the Côte d’Azur, from which the chair takes its name.

Al centro della scena, si riconferma la collaborazione con Philippe Nigro, che firma per l’azienda la nuova sedia BEAULIEU in legno di faggio, dove le curve assemblate come un gioco di costruzione, si incontrano per creare schienale e braccioli, permettendo di ottenere con poche modifiche, due tipologie di seduta: una sedia e una comoda poltroncina. Per Philippe Nigro pensare a una nuova sedia per Gebrüder Thonet Vienna è anche entrare in un immaginario poetico: quello dovuto alla capacità dell’azienda, da circa 150 anni, di attraversare le epoche con disinvoltura. In questo progetto, Philippe Nigro si rifà al „vivere con leggerezza“ e alla raffinatezza tipica di un luogo simbolo di questo periodo come Beaulieu, sulla Costa Azzurra, da cui la sedia prende il nome.
